We’re working with a leading international consultancy delivering mission-critical data centre projects globally. We’re looking for a Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary teams, drive technical excellence, and shape the mechanical engineering strategy across complex, high-profile projects. Mentor engineers, collaborate with clients, and make a tangible impact on the design and delivery of next-generation data centres.
Responsibilities
As a Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will:

Lead mechanical engineering design for data centres, including HVAC, chilled water systems, free cooling, and environmental systems, ensuring efficiency, resilience, and sustainability.

Manage and mentor multi-disciplinary teams, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.

Oversee project delivery from concept through to completion, ensuring designs meet client requirements, codes, and industry standards.

Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to provide innovative and practical engineering solutions.

Support business growth and technical strategy, influencing the consultancy’s approach to data centre design and engineering excellence.
Requirements

Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartered status.

Proven experience delivering data centre or mission-critical projects.

Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling, and environmental engineering.

Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.

Experience in project management, budgeting, and contract administration.
